I currently just started reading the book called, The Earth, My Butt and Other Big Round Things, which is about a teenage girl and managing her way through high school with all the boys, drama and self infliction involved. Virginia is somewhat of a heavy set girl who just wants a boy that will treat her the same way he would a skinny, sexy girl. She is currently "seeing" this boy, Froggy. Froggy Welsh the Fourth, to be exact. Virginia is curious about the sexual part of life and uses Froggy to somewhat solve her curiosity. Virginia met this boy at school, and even though they do not speak to one other at school, she secretly invites Froggy over to her room everyday after school. She hasn't yet let Froggy hit "home run", as Virginia is conscious about her figure, but he gets an inch closer everyday. Virginia needs to first learn all of the concepts about everything first before she lets herself go and mess everything up.
If I Stay is an incredibly touching story about a 17 year old girl, Mia, who is fascinated by classical music and playing the cello. She is apart of a beautiful family that is also involved in the musical category, but not quite in the same way that she is; rock band members are her parents. Mia's boyfriend and first love is also in a rock band. One snowy morning, the family was taking a road trip when they came head on with another vehicle causing everyone's life to change in a blink of an eye. Mia's little brother, Teddy, and her mother and father were all killed instantly, while Mia on the other hand is here, but yet she isn't here.. Mia is in a coma but she is still "here". It is now up to her whether she wants to stay or not. Her only problem is, how does she decide?
I am currently reading a book called The Vow. So far in this story, it is about a young man who spoke in detail about his beautiful new wife and how happy their life was. Until, one night before Thanksgiving changed their lives forever. On this newly weds way to Arizona to spend Thanksgiving with family, they encountered a very terrible car accident. Kim, the husband, was able to make it out of the vehicle and his wife Krickett was in severe condition. No one believed that Krickett would make it. But after switching hospitals and everyone focusing their time on her, Krickett was able to make it out alive, with one major complication; she doesn't remember who her husband is.
Well, I came to an end in the book Between Here and Forever. Towards the end of the book Eli fell in love with Abby and confessed his love for her but Abby froze up and ended up saying the wrong thing, leaving Eli to be hurt and heart broken. Abby ends up finding out a lot of stuff about Tess that she never knew before. she found out who the real Tess is. After talking to Claire and seeing stuff on Tess's computer, Abby finds out that Tess and Claire were in love. Claire got pregnant and Tess was furious so Tess started "seeing" her roommate Beth before the accident. Finding this out about Tess, Abby realized she isn't as perfect as she thought and that it is okay for Abby to be happy with her own self and her own life. She finally realizes she needs to let Tess go and stop letting her control her life and happiness. Abby confesses her feelings for Eli and she is now starting her life for herself. She is starting to be happy for herself.
Currently in Between Here and Forever, Abby's sister Tess, is still not awake from her coma. Eli still comes in to talk to her, with Abby thinking it is going to wake her. But, Abby finds herself starting to fall even harder for Eli, especially considering he seems to be the only one to actually "see" Abby. Abby gets frustrated with everybody doubting Tess's awakening. She knows she will wake up, while no one else has any hope. Abby tries harder everyday to be happy and not constantly wish she was Tess, but it is so hard considering she feels like a nothing when around Tess.
I have been coming a long pretty far in the book Between Here and Forever. Abby, the main character, still continues to visit her sister that is in a coma, Tess. She also still continues to have Eli com everyday and talk to Tess believing it will wake her. Abby starts to grow a crush on this new boy Eli, but knows she can not considering is he supposed to be there for Tess' sake. As for all Abby's life she has also been jealous of Tess. I mean, Tess is perfect, who wouldn't be jealous of her. But, under closed doors, Abby tells a different side of the "happy" and "perfect" Tess. There would be times when Tess was a totally different person, not happy Tess, but sad Tess. After Abby began to think it over, she wasn't really that jealous Tess herself, but more jealous that despite all the bad in the world, she could still manage to be happy and positive and people still always loved her. She was a people person, Abby is not.
Currently in Between Here and Forever, Abby, the main character, finds this boy, Eli, to wake up her sister. Abby ends up talking to him for awhile and she starts liking him. She knows she can't though because he is for Tess. Abby helps Eli out with some things so that he can help her out with this. The end of what I have read so far, Abby talks to Tess's best friend Claire and talks about how jealous she is of Tess and her perfectness.
I still have yet to reach very far in the book, Between Here and Forever, but so far Abby, the main characters', sister Tess is still in a coma. She isn't speaking to her parents at all and is just mad at the world. As Abby, Claire, the nurse, and a "cute" boy awaits in the hospital room, Abby notices Tess's eye twitches every time the boy speaks. "Tess can here him!" exclaims Abby. She tells the boy to keep speaking so everyone can witness Tess twitching. As everyone acts like there is no hope and that Tess is gone, Abby knows there is still hope, she knows there is still life in her and she will come back.
Between Here and Forever is a pretty interesting book so far. I just started it but so far it's about a girls sister who had gotten into a car accident and has been in a coma for many months.
In the Life on the Refrigerator Door, it is about a mother and daughter that write back and forth on the refrigerator door. The mother is a night nurse who is never home so they never see each other. The mother ends up getting breast cancer so then they start writing back and forth to each other about how they are coping with it.
